We will combine the actual practice of meditation with study and discussion of Jewish mystical thought from the 18th century to the present day. The two modalities complement each other, as the meditation opens and helps focus our minds, and the study enriches the meditation experience. We will go over some basic Kabbalistic concepts and explore a variety of writings from later day Jewish mystics from the 18th century to the present in order to deepen our understanding of Jewish meditation.
